Walking is one of the best exercise which will help you stay healthy and live a rich life. Walking burns fat and helps speed up your metabolism. Hence its a very good weight loss exercise. Walking reduces the risk of heart disease, breast cancer, colon cancer, diabetes and some other diseases. Walking makes you feel more energetic. You will have a healthy body and healthy mind. And more over you will live a happy life.
Most people think they have to schedule time for walking. They think if someone mentions walking then it is either morning walk or evening walk. Actually you can do the required amount of walking doing regular things. Changing some things in your life will make you walk more than you do usually. You don't require special scheduled time to go for walking. I will point out some ways you can walk more and stay healthy. More you walk more you will lose weight. You will become slim!

Though these ways will make you walk more, still having a morning walk is good for health. But if you are very busy and cannot have the luxury of special time for walking, then this may really help you. You will walk more and lose weight if you
- Go to office or school by walking if the location is less than 1 KM.
- Don't depend on helpers for doing household works. Do it yourself.
- Do Garden works at home yourself.
- Walk before Breakfast and after Dinner. 5-10 minutes of walking will do.
- Do cycling or walk on treadmill while watching TV shows.
- Get your drinks(water, tea etc) by yourself. Don't ask someone else to bring it for you.
- Walk while discussing something with other. May be some ideas with your friend or discussion on project with your colleagues.
- Stand while you talk on land phone.
- Walk while talking on mobile phone. Walk the Talk.
- Take staircase wherever possible. Avoid lift services.
- Walk while waiting for bus or train or plane. You get god time here to do walking exercise.
- Participate in sports club and make use of fitness center.
- Take your dog for walking
- Play a lot of games. Play with your children. Playing with kids will always make you walk and run a lot and also will make you happy.
- Play games which involves more running like basketball, football etc..
Walk More and stay Healthy. Walking a lot will strengthen your bones. More physical activity will make your stronger. 150 - 200 Minutes of walking per week is ideal. If you walk 2-3 Hrs a week will help reduce your weight dramatically. Walk for one month you will see a lot of weight loss.

Thank you nms, for this hub. I agree. I have a slipped disk and the affected part is my neck. As a consequence, i can not run anymore, for the rest of my life. That was what the doctor told me. As an alternative, i brisk walk early in the morning. As exercise is important, walking is a great alternative. There is no need for any exercise equipment. And it could be a great stress reliever as well.
